Deirdre is a very experienced traditional fiddle player and has toured extensively both in Ireland and on the international stage. In July of 2010 Deirdre performed with The Diarmaid Moynihan band at the Dún Laoghaire Festival of World Cultures. She has recently appeared in concert with Carlos Nunez and The London Lasses. As a member of the critically acclaimed band Calico she performed at many festivals both in Ireland and abroad. International highlights include concerts at The Dranouter Festival (Belgium), The Washington Folk festival (USA), Edmonton Folk Festival (Canada), Sidmouth Folk Festival (UK) and The Tel Aviv Irish Film & Music Festival.

As a fiddle player she features on “The Lights of Ranzanico”, the critically acclaimed new recording by Diarmaid and Donncha Moynihan. Her string arrangements also add a beautiful additional dimension to a number of the CD’s instrumental tracks.

In the past, Deirdre has performed and recorded with 'The Crash Ensemble' as a guest fiddle player on a number of experimental works. She has been invited to give master classes in fiddle playing in Ireland, England, Scandinavia and the Isle of Mann. Recordings featuring Deirdre's playing include:
